Moddy runs more than one Minecraft world, and each has its own list of who may join.
Scarcity Isle
The public island for players 18 and up: start on a tiny island in the sky, where every wish counts.
Open to anyone 18 or older. Sign in with Microsoft and you are on the list: at once if there is a free seat, and if not, you get a place in line and an email when it is your turn.
Moddy's Creative world, run by one family: wish for anything and watch it appear.
By invite only. The family who runs Moddy sends an invitation link; opening it and signing in is all it takes. There is no form to ask.
Server address: workshop.moddythewishwatch.com
Signing in keeps a few things about you — what, and for how long, is on
the privacy page.
Step by step
How to join
Three steps, and nothing to download or install: an ordinary copy of Minecraft Java Edition is all it takes.
Something not working? Trouble joining is at the bottom of this page.
Get your spot. Moddy is for players 18 and up and may have a wait-list. Sign in with the Microsoft account you play Minecraft with and we'll add you — straight in if there's room, or saved a place in line.
Got an invitation to Moddy's Workshop? Open your invitation link instead, and use workshop.moddythewishwatch.com. About the two worlds.
Connect. Open Minecraft: Java Edition on a computer, choose Multiplayer → Add Server, type moddythewishwatch.com, then Done → Join Server. When it asks about the server's resource pack, choose Yes. Use version 1.21.4 or newer.
If Multiplayer is greyed out
If the Multiplayer button is grey and says “Multiplayer is disabled”, the
player's Microsoft account is managed by a family group, and multiplayer is switched off there. Only
the player's guardian can switch it on — the player can't.
Send these steps to whoever manages your account
Someone with the family group's own Microsoft account has to change one setting. Send them this
page — it has everything they need.
“… doesn't have a seat yet”, or “isn't on the list yet”
That player hasn't got a spot yet, or is still in line — step 1:
Get my spot. Invited to Moddy's Workshop? Open your
invitation link. Getting in.
“Failed to log in: Invalid session”
This one is between your game and Minecraft's own sign-in, not Moddy. Quit Minecraft
and the Minecraft Launcher completely, open them again, and join. It happens after
changing your username, or when the launcher has been open a long time. Still stuck? Sign out
of the launcher and back in.
“Outdated client”, or “version not supported”
Moddy works with these versions of Minecraft Java Edition:
Version
Checked
1.21.4
tested 2026-09-24
26.2
tested 2026-09-24
26.3
tested 2026-09-25
The ones marked tested are checked again every time we change Moddy. If you can, pick 1.21.4 in the launcher's
Installations tab — it is the version the server itself runs.
“Rejecting this custom resource pack will disconnect you”
Moddy's resource pack is what makes Moddy and your wishes look right, so the server needs it. Join
again and choose Yes.
Moddy's watch looks like leather horse armour, or wishes look wrong
The server's resource pack is off. In Multiplayer, select the server, choose
Edit, set Server Resource Packs to Enabled,
and join again.
“Can't connect to server”, or it times out
Check the address is exactly moddythewishwatch.com (or workshop.moddythewishwatch.com if you were invited to Moddy's Workshop). If it is, Moddy may be restarting for an
update — try again in a few minutes.
Anything else, tell us and we'll sort it out with you.
Make a wish
Moddy is the watch in your hotbar. Right-click it to pick a wish, or type /wish
and then what you want, in your own words — for example
/wish a dragon that breathes fireworks.
Hold the watch. Moddy is the pocket watch in your hotbar — it is there when you join.
Right-click it. Moddy's menu opens. The top row is wishes ready to go: click one. Or pick ✍ Wish for something new!
Type your wish. Write what you want in your own words, then click the wish on the right. You can skip the menu too: type /wish and your wish in chat. The box holds 50 letters — for a longer wish, use /wish in chat, which fits five times as much.
Moddy gets to work. The bar at the top and the lines in chat say what Moddy is doing, and a tall pillar of light marks the spot you aimed at. A new wish takes a minute or two.
Ta-da! Your wish appears where you were looking.
Change it. Wish again and say which one: /wish make my cake castle taller. Not what you wanted? Open the menu and press 👎 That wasn't right! — Moddy takes it away and tries again.
Ask about it. Questions are wishes too: /wish what can I do in my cake castle? Moddy answers in chat.
A real wish, start to finish: open Moddy, choose Wish for something new, type
a castle made of candy and cake, step back to watch the pillar, and the castle rises out of
a whirlwind. The wait while Moddy thinks (about a minute) is sped up four times; the castle rising
plays at its real speed.
Wishes to start with
Every one of these is on Moddy's menu: right-click the watch and pick it by name, or type the
/wish line under it. Each is a kind of wish — once you have tried it, ask for something
like it in your own words.
Creatures and pets
Animals, pets and monsters that walk, swim, fly and follow you.
A pet dragon that breathes fire!
Moddy says: “Here comes your pet dragon! It follows you and breathes fire — but never at you.”
Or type /wish a pet dragon that follows me and breathes fire
Also try: a cat that follows me, a tiny dragon that sits on my shoulder, a turtle that follows me around
A giant beast you ride - when you jump it leaps, and the ground shakes when it lands!
Moddy says: “Here's your giant T-Rex! Climb on, then jump and it leaps way up high — and when it lands, the ground shakes and the monsters go flying.”
Or type /wish a giant beast i can ride that leaps when i jump and shakes the ground when it lands
Also try: a horse that flies when I jump, a giant frog I can ride that bounces way up high
A creature that calls little helpers to fight for it!
Moddy says: “Meet Captain Puff! When monsters come, he calls his little helpers to fight them — and they never fight you.”
Or type /wish a creature that calls little helpers to fight for it
Also try: a wizard that calls little skeletons to help it, a queen bee that calls her baby bees
A creature that throws fireballs at monsters - but never at you!
Moddy says: “Meet your fire buddy! It throws fireballs at the monsters — but never at you.”
Or type /wish a creature that throws fireballs at monsters but never at me
Also try: a snowman that throws snowballs at zombies, a guard that shoots arrows at the monsters
Buildings
Castles, houses and hideouts, built in front of you.
A huge castle with a lava moat!
Moddy says: “Your castle is going up — with a lava moat all around it!”
Or type /wish a huge castle with a lava moat
Also try: a floating island, an underwater dome, a castle with a drawbridge
Things that do something
Swords, wands, food and boots with a power of their own — and machines you fill up.
A sword that shoots lightning!
Moddy says: “Your Lightning Sword is in your hand! Hit something with it and lightning strikes it.”
Or type /wish a sword that shoots lightning
Also try: a bow that shoots fireworks, a sword that sets things on fire
Boots that make you jump REALLY high!
Moddy says: “Here are your jump boots! Put them on and you jump REALLY high — and you land softly. A real double jump in mid-air isn't possible, so these jump extra high instead!”
Or type /wish boots that let me DOUBLE JUMP!!!
Also try: boots that let me run super fast, a helmet that lets me see in the dark
A slushie machine - fill it with ice!
Moddy says: “Here's your Slushie Machine! Put it down, hold ice and pull the handle to fill it, then pull again to pour a slushie. 1 ice makes a small one and 3 makes a BIG one — add sugar too if you like! Here's a slushie to try.”
Or type /wish a slushie machine i fill with ice
Also try: a juice machine you fill with apples, a hot chocolate maker with marshmallows
A LUCKY BLOCK - break it for a surprise!
Moddy says: “Here are your Lucky Blocks! Put one down and BREAK it — most of the time you get a present (diamonds, cake, golden apples, emeralds), sometimes a chicken, a pig or a zombie pops out, and once in a while... BOOM! Every one is different!”
Or type /wish a lucky block that gives a surprise when i break it
Also try: a trampoline block that bounces you up high, a magnet block that pulls dropped things in
Pictures
Pixel art, hung up in the world.
A giant creeper face picture!
Moddy says: “Sssss... a GIANT creeper face! Look in front of you!”
Or type /wish a giant pixel art creeper face
Also try: a pixel art heart, a picture of Steve, a painting of a wolf
Things that happen
Tidal waves, meteors and raining chickens — and the world goes back afterwards.
A meteor that makes a crater!
Moddy says: “Look up — a METEOR! It smashes down and leaves a giant smoking crater. Say undo and the ground comes back.”
Or type /wish a meteor that crashes down and makes a crater
Also try: a volcano that pops up out of the ground, a meteor shower of glowing rocks
It's raining chickens!
Moddy says: “It's raining CHICKENS! They float down all around you. Say undo and they fly off home.”
Or type /wish make it rain chickens
Also try: make it rain pigs, a snowstorm that covers everything in snow
Playing Scarcity Isle
You start on a tiny island in the sky, with one tree and a chest. Your goal is to grow it from
almost nothing into a home. Press L in the game to see your goal list — it has hints
for every step. You are also given an Isle Guide book; lost it? Type
/moddy guide.
Open the chest. It has a block of ice and a bucket of lava.
Make water. Put the ice down on your island and break it: it melts into water.
Make a cobblestone generator. Pour the lava with two empty blocks between it and
the water, and dig a hole in the gap next to the water. Where they meet, cobblestone appears. Mine it,
and more comes back, again and again.
Grow trees. Break leaves for saplings and apples, and plant the saplings on dirt.
Be careful: keep lava away from your tree, never pour water on top of the lava (it
turns into obsidian and your lava is gone), don't dig away all your dirt, and don't fall off the edge.
Stuck? Open Moddy and press What do I do now? — it shows your next
goal and can help with it. Asking Moddy a question, like how do I get sand?, is free. Wishes
are scarce on the Isle: you have a wish bank that refills over time, and /moddy wishes
shows yours.
What Moddy can't do (yet)
Just Minecraft. This server runs Minecraft and Moddy, and no other mods — so
blocks, creatures and items from other mods aren't here.
Wishes are for you. Moddy usually won't aim a wish at another player, like
shrinking a friend or dropping something on them. Ask them to make their own!
Nothing scary or unkind. If a wish could hurt or upset someone, Moddy says no
— or asks for something kinder.
It isn't instant. A new wish can take a minute or two. Moddy tells you what
it's doing while you wait.
Ride your creature. Wish for a dinosaur, a dragon or a unicorn you can climb on.
Giant places. A water park, a mansion, a whole mushroom town. The bigger it is, the more it might surprise you.
People in your places. A lifeguard on the pool chair, a guard at your gate.
These are new, so Moddy is still learning them. If one comes out wrong, wish again and
say what to fix.
Still being built
Kinds of wishes Moddy can't do well yet. You can try one — Moddy will do its best,
but it may come out rough.
Games. Mini-games with coins, scores and timers.
Collections. Sets of things to find, collect and complete.
For intrepid builders
Beyond the Watch
Moddy grants wishes inside the world. Some builders want to change the world itself — make their own
mods, or rescue one stuck on an old version. If that's you, here are two expeditions.

Only needed if a player's Multiplayer button is greyed out. That happens when
their Microsoft account is managed by a family group, where multiplayer is off by default. Switching it on is two settings, takes about two minutes,
and only has to be done once.
Sign in with the player's guardian's own Microsoft account (not the player's), and
pick the player under Privacy & online safety.
Open the tab XBOX and Windows 10 devices — the switches are not
on the first tab.
Set two switches to Allow: You can join cross-network play and
You can join multiplayer games. Leave the others as they are — neither turns on chat.
Then press Submit at the bottom.
On the player's computer, quit the Minecraft Launcher completely and open it again.
Still grey? The change can take an hour or more to reach the game. No family
set up yet? Microsoft Family.
What is this?
Moddy the Wish Watch is a small Minecraft play test run by one family on its own
servers. Players join with an ordinary copy of Minecraft — nothing to download — and make
wishes that come to life in the game. What we keep, and for how long, is on
the privacy page; questions go to
a real person. More about Moddy →
